'Little Blue Boat'
by Charlot King
I see you, little blue boat
On my daily walk, going nowhere, in stasis
I feel you, little blue boat
Once new and shiny, waiting for something
I hear you, little blue boat
As the river hits your hull, constantly testing
I know you, little blue boat
Tethered to my heart
Take me away, to be six again
When I was clever as clever, and was going to live forever
Let me drift with you across the height of summer
Let us float on the sky’s reflection
meet Doris Day and sing
Little Blue Boat, can I be your friend
Can we adventure together, can we row to the horizon
Can we see everything
Before it’s time,
Before the man calls
Come in number 53, your time is up

My 'Cambridge Book of Little Poems' will be out soon on Amazon. They are small poems about things I see on my walks in Cambridge
